Each year during National Volunteer Week, the Sport and Recreation Commission provides funding for a Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony in Halifax, to honour and say THANK YOU to volunteers throughout the Province. Antigonish County Recreation selects one volunteer at random, from the nominations which are submitted, to attend this event which is organized by Recreation Nova Scotia. Last year's volunteer representative was Ella Stearns.
